Outage Management
Outage management systems are considered mission-critical at most utilities, which is why we ensure that each of our consultants has 10-plus years of experience with OMS software. We ensure the seamless integration with a multitude of other applications associated with distribution management, mobile workforce management, advanced metering, meter data management, and customer information systems. Our capabilities include the integration of inter-control center communications protocol (ICCP) and IEC common information model (CIM) standards to enhance the functionality of other operational technologies such as SCADA, Power Flow, and distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS).
Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
Often considered an essential element of grid modernization, an ADMS combines three formerly separate systems—SCADA, OMS, and DMS—to create a single common operations platform. As a combined system, an ADMS provides advanced operational and engineering applications that are not accessible in the formerly separate solutions. While the deployment of an ADMS can be a significant undertaking, our consultants can help utilities navigate the process from preparing a business case in the early stages to implementation, data readiness, system deployment, testing, training and ongoing support.
Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS)
The increase in distributed energy resources (DERs) such as solar, wind, and battery storage has fundamentally changed grid operations. We can help utilities better manage and leverage DERs through the addition of a DERMS, which provides real-time visibility and control to help balance the supply and demand for electricity. Our world-class subject matter experts have hands-on experience building, deploying and integrating DERMS packages, which include customized training on emerging operational issues, processes, and solutions for DER registration.
Distribution Automation
We offer a strategic, comprehensive approach to distribution automation in which utilities can monitor, control, and automate critical distribution network operations in real time. Our capabilities include the specification, procurement and installation of advanced sensors, controls, and data analytics platforms, which contribute to faster fault detection and restoration, ultimately helping to reduce energy losses and enhance system efficiency.
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
We offer end-to-end solutions that optimize performance in the control center and beyond, including the communication infrastructure that transfers data and the devices that are used to monitor and collect information from transmission and distribution substations. Our capabilities include project development, software deployment, integration with existing operational systems, communication network design and engineering; and, wiring and installation of remote devices We also provide testing and commissioning and organizational change management programs.
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
We deploy AMI at utilities which provides remote, real-time collection of energy usage data, eliminating the need for manual meter readings and increasing operational efficiency. The solution can detect outages and through the integration with OMS systems and other operational technology and offers in-depth insights in overall system operations.
Meter Data Management (MDM)
Our digital solutions capabilities include the implementation of MDM systems which are used to collect, process, and analyze data from smart meters to support real-time energy monitoring, demand forecasting, energy efficiency programs, and regulatory compliance By integrating MDM into other operational technology applications, utilities can enhance their overall ability to identify usage patterns, detect outages, and reduce system losses.
Mobile Workforce Management (MWFM)
MWFM technology can enable faster response to outages and overall improved efficiency Our digital solution experts can help identify and implement a MWFM solution, including streamlined job scheduling, optimized travel routes and better real-time communication between field crews and dispatchers. Additionally, MWFM can improve data accuracy, enhance safety compliance, and increase customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and reliable service delivery.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
We deliver comprehensive GIS solutions designed to enhance utility efficiency, accuracy, and performance. With deep expertise in the Esri network we can help harness the full power of GIS platforms. From data migration to network model optimization, our GIS services support better field mobility and informed decision-making in utility operations.
